Maa Dharti Project  Chapter 5: Kachrey ka Khazana – Part 2

In order to deal with the 12,000 tonnes of garbage that Karachi generates on a daily basis, it is first necessary that we begin to question and change our habits. There are examples of countries in the world that have not only used up all their own garbage but are even importing garbage from other parts of the world to recycle or burn as fuel. Though a sizeable amount of garbage in Pakistan gets recycled through a mostly unregulated industry, too much of it still ends up in the sea or in landfills that poison the groundwater.

In the next Maa Dharti Project with Tofiq Pasha Mooraj, we continue with the second part of “Kachre ka Khazana along with 4 guest entrepreneurs who share their experience of how they have decided to deal with garbage.
