Join us at T2F for an evening of ‘Khayal Gayki’ organised by Tanseen Academy of Performing Arts where Kashif Zafar will perform with the idea to promote the ‘Khayal’ style of singing among youth.
About the Performer:
Kashif Zafar is a graduate in music from the National Academy of Performing Arts ( NAPA). Further, he learned the art of Khayal Gayaki from the maestros Ustad Rauf Naseer Saami & Urooj Naseer Saami of Qawwal Bacha Dilli Gharana. Kashif Zafar excels his art by singing Khayal, Qawwali, Thumri, Folk, Ghazal, Popular, Sufi Fusion & Experimental music.
He sings Urdu, Persian, Arabic, Punjabi, Saraiki & English languages. He established Pakistan’s first Qawwali Fusion Ensemble that has been a part of German weeks to promote a soft image of Pakistan and to bring peace and love in communities through Qawwali music and the teachings of the Sufi saints.
Kashif is a regular performer & has performed at all the major music festivals & live concerts in Pakistan. His music has been featured on TV, Radio, Social media & music websites. He has sung romantic, devotional & patriotic songs. He has also sung & composed for TV drama serials & jingles.
He established Taansen Academy of Performing Arts in 2008 & still continues to provide professional music training to the new & upcoming artists.
He teaches Eastern Classical Vocal music. He has trained a number of students at the Taansen academy and helped them to record & released their music professionally on TV, Radio, internet, and music websites.
He runs an independent record label t-records. He has produced & released music albums through Taansen independent record label that gained popularity internationally. Providing a platform for new talent to record & release their music through proper music training and guidance.
He is a founder/director of Ustad Shagird Centre Project working since 2016. An initiative to bring peace & harmony to communities through Sufi teachings, music, art & culture. Providing education & support to the underprivileged children in the rural areas of Karachi.
