Information for Hotmail Users
A number of our mailing list subscribers who have Hotmail addresses, have complained about not receiving e-mail announcements. After research and discussions with our hosting company, we have discovered that Hotmail will deliver an e-mail to 9 recipients at once, but delivery to the 10th user and all subsequent Hotmail users after that will fail. It is also possible that this is caused by using BCC, which is done to protect the identity of our subscribers. We have over 500 Hotmail subscribers so there seems to be no clear workaround at this point.
Some suggestions:
1. Subscribe to T2F’s mailing list with another e-mail address
2. Visit our website regularly
3. Subscribe to T2F’s Google Calendar
4. Subscribe to T2F’s RSS Feed
5. Subscribe to T2F Event Alerts for your mobile phone
why don’t you guys setup a proper mailing list application like mailman instead of sending a single email using BCC field, mailman won’t hurt your or your users’ privacy and will help you solving 10th email problem as well :)

@Mustafa: We do have a “proper” mailing list and don’t use the BCC field. E-mails are sent to announcements@list.t2f.biz and the BCC field is only used to send event information to people who sign up between announcements. This Hotmail issue is a known, documented issue and I’m not sure if switching to another mailing list app will solve the problem. I’d be happy to try out Mailman though – I know it’s a robust open source app and will give it a shot.

@admin, i have managed to support 5000+ users with mailman and it works like a charm, have never faced such issue.
@Mustafa: Hmmmm … I just spoke to a friend about Mailman and he said it’s a pain to administer. Really convoluted. Oh well, whatever, thanks for your insights – maybe you can volunteer to install, integrate, and run it for us?
@admin, obviously it’s a proper mailing list management and administrator need to learn running mailman operations (it comes with a web gui), don’t go for it if you have small number of subscribers, you should definitely get it if your subscribers are in atleast 4 figures
