Suhaee Abro began her training in classical dance at the age of seven from the respected classical dancer, Sheema Kermani. Abro specialises in ‘Bharatanatyam’; also choreographing and performing other genres of dance. She has been performing since the age of eight, including numerous performances in Pakistan, India, China, Italy and Nepal.
Her group, ‘Nritaal – a live dance and music group’ in which she works as a Dance Director and performer has been quite appreciated by art-lovers and art critiques. Abro choreographed many of her dance pieces and dance productions; mostly based on various literary pieces.
Apart from dance, she has also done selective acting work for television for eleven years; appearing in music videos and documentaries as well. She has taught dance and movement to children and adults – at The Neem Tree School of Music, The Second Floor (T2F) and privately. She has also conducted workshops based on dance therapy. Abro is the Director and organizer of ‘Raqs Mein Hai Sara Jahan – Dancing Away Differences’, a one day festival celebrating various forms of dance and dancers.
