Cell Phones: A Different Way of Seeing
A Workshop by Leading Karachi Photographer, Amean J
Saturday, 8th November 2008 | 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
The integration of cameras in cellular phones produced a true revolution in culture. Most cell phones today have low resolution cameras (although some already have up to 5 megapixels) but their aesthetic quality is different from devices that are exclusively cameras, which is why photographic language can be used in a different way.
An advantage is that we all have a camera with us all the time. This allows us to instantly record any event that draws our attention and we can share it with others instantly. This workshop’s intention is to use cell phones to make projects with specific ideas and to learn how to distribute them.
Participants will:
1. Learn how to use the photographic tools of cell phones
2. Analyze the advantages of using a cell phone for photography
3. Develop, edit, and present a project
